Meet Our Founder
Reneé Hall, a native New Yorker, was born and raised in Brooklyn. Her natural hair artistry began as a little girl, styling dolls and sitting out on the stoop and doing the “neighborhoods” hair. As a teenager, she worked with master hair braider, Tulani Kinard. It was under this teaching when she really began to see the gift she was given. She established her first salon, Mo’ Better Braids, which had a clientele based on word of mouth only and would remain open for 10 years. Reneé inspired many as she participated in career days, taught Diane Bailey’s natural hair care class at Medgar Evers College, and showcased her talent as a platform artist. She was featured in the book, “One hundred Jobs, A Panorama of Work in the American City. Her first photo shoot landed on the cover of a hair magazine in 1990 working for Tulani Kinard of Tulani’s Regal Movement. Her natural hairstyles continue to be published in different media. In 2000, Reneé moved to Maryland where she could see God’s divine order. She opened Essentials Beauty and Barber Day Spa in 2004, which in 4 more years, would become Essentials Beauty Spa, LLC in Laurel, MD. She continued to inspire many by participating in trade shows, speaking at several engagements, and performing as a platform artist.

The biggest blessing was in 2010 where she went on a mission trip to South Africa. She did several little girls’ hair; many of which lived in orphanages. She spoke there as well about following your dreams and putting God first. In 2012, a new company Natural Trendzetter, LLC was established in Georgia.
Reneé is known for expeditious speed and is passionate about creativity on the crown. With 23 years in the hair industry, she strives to open doors for many young aspiring entrepreneurs. Renee has a passion to please God for she truly believes in Him, and with that, her success is owed to Him. She is a true testament of faith, a word she has tattooed on her foot – simply because she walks by faith and not by sight.
It is the umbrella for many projects that she is working on. S.E.P. Salon Empowerment Program which is a salon consulting program to help salons off to a brand new start. One on One Workshops which provide education for stylists looking to expland or to keep their transitioning clients. Renee has won 2014 Natural Hair stylist of the Year and 2018 #achimag Stylists of the year award.
